Apple’s new 4-inch phone could be named as ‘iPhone 5e’

As previously reported, due to heavy user demand, Apple is planning to release a new 4-inch iPhone this year.

Today, cnBeta claimed that Apple might name its 4-inch smartphone iPhone 5e, indicating ‘e’ as ‘enhanced’. Since the latest 4-inch model would be an enhanced version of iPhone 5c, primarily upgrading from its design and features.

According to the same report, iPhone 5e might feature an A8 chip (not A9, as reported previously) along with 1GB of RAM. It might be available in 16GB and 64GB storage models, with 8-megapixel camera, similar to iPhone 5s.

The device might also feature Apple Pay, and the design could be very much similar to iPod Touch instead of iPhone 5s. Though, the smaller iPhone might launch without advanced features such as 3D Touch.

Mentioning the release date, the launch of the smaller iPhone could be around February or March, which perfectly lines up with our previous report claiming the launch to be in early 2016.

Additionally, iPhone 5e could be priced from $500 (approximately ₹32,000).
