Delhi Police on Tuesday opened its official Twitter account as @DelhiPolice, allowing police officials to communicate and share critical information with citizens using the social network.

Though, it is not confirmed if you can use Twitter to log your complaints on this account, since Dial 100 is the official line for emergency police assistance. Among its first tweets from the Twitter account, @DelhiPolice greeted users with the following tweet.

In addition to @DelhiPolice account, Office of the Commissioner of Delhi Police as well as BS Bassi (as @BhimBassi) – current Delhi police commissioner opened Twitter accounts on Tuesday.

It is a good initiative from Delhi Police to directly communicate with its citizens, and soon this can be a way of logging in your complaints or urgent incidents within the city to easily inform city police.
