TAG Heuer launches its first Android Wear smartwatch – Connected

TAG launched its first smartwatch in partnership with Google and Intel. Priced at $1,500 (approximately 1 lakh), TAG Heuer Connected is powered by Android Wear and Intel hardware.

Unlike other Android Wear watches, Connected comes with a set of digital watch faces, designed similarly to classic TAG Heuer dials.

The watch faces are customizable with different colour backgrounds along with information such as weather, calorie or step count. In addition to that, Connected also comes with different set of straps available in colours such as – black, blue, green, orange, red, white, and yellow.

TAG Heuer smartwatch supports scratch-resistant sapphire crystal 1.5–inch circular display, with 360x360 resolution at a pixel density of 240ppi – seems to be low compared to Samsung Gear S2 and Apple Watch.

The sapphire crystal display supports multiple finger touch recognition.

Powered by 1.6GHz dual-core Intel processor, along with a 1GB RAM, and 4GB of storage. It comes with a 410mAh battery, which according to reports can last up to full 24 hours.

With the support of several sensors such as gyroscope, tilt detection, microphone, and haptic engine for vibrations, along with Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity.

At 46mm diameter and 12.8mm thickness, Connected is a IP67 splash-proof water resistant smartwatch.

TAG has built small applications such as alarm, stopwatch, and time – called Micro Apps to record time in different scenarios. The watch is compatible with both Android and iOS supporting over 4,000 apps from Google Play.
