Microsoft hit hard its rivals at its latest Windows 10 devices event, it was a big event for Microsoft and a successful one compared to the recent years. Microsoft announced several new products including new Lumia phones – all running Windows 10, Microsoft HoloLens, new Microsoft Band 2, Surface Pro 4, and the first ever laptop from Microsoft the Surface Book.
Here is the complete list of everything the company announced.
Lumia 950 and 950 XL
Microsoft updated its Lumia devices and introduced Lumia 950 and 950 XL, both running Windows 10 operating system. Lumia 950 comes with a hexa–core processor and 5.2” inch display while the 950 XL is powered by an octa–core processor along with 5.7” inch display.
Additionally, both devices come with 3GB RAM, 32GB of storage, 20MP rear cameras along with 5MP front cameras, triple LED RGB natural flash to take better photos in the dark, and USB type C. The cameras on both devices can shoot 4K videos as well.
The new Lumia phones arrive with Cortana, Office, Skype and Continuum to use the phone on larger screen just like a PC. Microsoft Hello can be used to unlock the devices with facial recognition technology.
Microsoft introduced adaptive antenna technology to the new Lumia devices, which according to Microsoft, the phones come with two antennas to give you better connectivity as the antennas automatically select the best range option available.
Along with adaptive antenna technology. Another new feature is glance screen technology, with which you can get important information like messages, calls, emails, or other notifications by just pulling the device from your pocket and without pressing any buttons to light up the screen.
With the Continuum mode and Display Dock you can connect your Lumia devices to a computer monitor, turning the phone into a full blown Windows desktop computer which can display 4K videos on your monitor and run Office just like a PC. Everything works like a PC, the mouse, keyboard – with keyboard shortcuts, but you are doing everything on the phone.
These phones come with liquid cooling technology as well to keep the devices cool. With the new Lumia devices running Windows 10, Microsoft wants to bring Windows 10 to life in your pocket.
Microsoft gave a beautiful demo of the project codenamed Project X-Ray for HoloLens, in which it showed the power of HoloLens to adapt to whatever environment the player is in, and announcing $3,000 HoloLens Development Edition available for developers by Q1 of 2016.

Microsoft Band 2
Band is Microsoft’s answer to smartwatches, and Microsoft wants the Band to be the primary device for health and fitness tracking as it houses 11 sensors in total. The Microsoft Band can track your heart rate, exercise, calorie burn, and sleep quality. Additionally, you can check your emails, text messages, calls, or calendar notifications on your wrist with the new Band.
Microsoft Surface Pro 4
According to Microsoft 98% who use Surface Pro 3 recommend it to friends and family, with that in mind Microsoft is brining the best of Surface Pro 3 to its users with Surface Pro 4, but better.
The new Surface Pro 4 is 8.4mm thick, comes with a 12.3–inch PixelSense display. The PixelSense display is 267 PPI and produces up to 5–million pixels, it is the highest resolution display on Surface devices to date.
The Surface Pro 4 has a hybrid cooling system, and comes with a laptop class keyboard, along with a 40% larger trackpad than the Surface Pro 3.
New addition to this device is the fingerprint reader, to easily log you in or out of the device. It also has pen storage to store the new Microsoft Pen which can run full year long just with a single charge and has an eraser too.
The new Surface Pro 4 will be $899, pre–orders start today (October 7th) and will be available by October 26th.
Microsoft Surface Book
This is the newest product announced by Microsoft, and the first ever laptop from Microsoft: Surface Book.
The Surface Book comes with a 267 PPI 13.5–inch PixelSense display which has around 6–million pixels. It has an NVIDIA GeForce graphics chipset, the GPU is in the base so integrated graphics are used when the device is detached from the base (keyboard).
Surface Book has a high–speed GDDR5 memory, with 12–hour battery life. According to Microsoft, it is the fastest 13–inch laptop ever, 2x faster than Macbook Pro based on performance.
Surface Book starts at $1,499. You can pre–order the product now and will be available by October 26th in the United States and Canada, will be available in the remaining countries within the coming months.
With the latest things announced by Microsoft, the company wants to bring Windows 10 to every device it builds and make the operating system fully universal. It really shows that the company is building great things again and is hungry if innovation, again!
